# Start an External Assessment

> Simple steps to start an external assessment

## Add a New External Assessment

To create an external scan from the portal itself, click the **Create Assessment** button in the top right corner. Then, select **External Assessment** from the list of options. You will be prompted to enter the company name and website. Once you have done so, click **Create** to proceed to the assessment page.
